Among this week's releases, 'Rudrangi' stands rejected by the audience comprehensively. Jagapathi Babu portrays the character of a feudal lord in this period drama, where he tyrannizes an entire village to fulfill his lust for a virtuous woman. The film, although reminiscent of 'Osey Ramulamma,' feels outdated in its approach.
Under the direction of Ajay Samrat, the film's initial half emphasizes themes of desire and palace politics. However, the second half takes a downturn, venturing into familiar territory where a rebellion unfolds through lackluster action sequences, failing to engage the audience.
The film, co-starring Mamta Mohandas, Ashish Gandhi and Ganavi Laxman, has been declared a flop at the box office.
'Rudrangi' would have been worthy had the second half followed the fairly interesting writing evident in the first half.
