Johnny Depp appeared as Captain Jack Sparrow on the big screen eight years ago. Since there has been no clarity about whether he will play the iconic role again, producer Jerry Bruckheimer has dropped an update. So far, Depp has played Sparrow five times.

The producer revealed that Depp is open to returning as the swashbuckling pirate. He stated that Depp's decision would ultimately come down to the script. “If he likes the way the part is written, I think he would do it... It's all about what's on the page, as we all know,” Bruckheimer said.

This news offers a glimmer of hope for fans who have long campaigned for Johnny Depp's return to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. While a new movie with him is not yet confirmed, producer Bruckheimer's comments suggest that the door is not closed, and the right script could bring Captain Jack Sparrow back to life.

Talking about the iconic status of Captain Jack Sparrow, a critic wrote, "He is loved because he is a master of wit and deception. Jack doesn't fit the mold of a traditional hero. He is selfish, morally ambiguous, and often acts out of self-interest. Above all, Jack's core motivation is his love for freedom."
