A glimpse video of The Paradise was released today. At about 1.5 minutes, the video is largely effective but the use of extreme language has upset many. The narrator, an old woman, describes the male lead's character as a bastard.
Cuss words are usually censored by the CBFC but YouTube releases are meant for private viewing. YouTube has implemented certain standards, though. If a video features adult content/language, it is marked as 18+ and the user must consent to watching it. The glimpse of The Paradise, at the outset, provides a disclaimer that says "raw language" features in the video. But this disclaimer is not meant to serve as a discouragement but as an advertisement for the film's rawness.
Netizens argue that the liberal normalization of abusive words has had a negative influence on juveniles. "Why are we normalizing such language? Of all, Nani shouldn't glamourize the use of forbidden words," a social media user opined.
The Paradise is directed by Srikanth Odela of Dasara fame. Its music and cinematography are by Anirudh Ravichander and GK Vishnu, respectively. It will head to theatres on March 26, 2026.
