'Dasara' maker Srikanth Odela is upset that, last week, the title of his upcoming movie with Natural Star Nani somehow got 'leaked' a day before the scheduled announcement. Everyone on social media came to know that 'The Paradise' was the title. When Nani finally shared the update 24 hours later, not many were surprised. By then, the intended suspense had evaporated.
In an angry social media post on Sunday, Odela hit out at those responsible for such happenings. “It is better not to blame Assistant Directors or Writers for the leaks (sic). These people are the future creators, and their selfless contribution to cinema deserves the utmost RESPECT! Change the habit of blaming it on actual hard-working film departments and learn to admit your greediness. I know the bas*ards who leaked my title, and THEY ARE NOT FROM MY TEAM," Odela wrote.
The director's naivete is touching. But the truth is that they are not accidental leaks but "exclusive updates" tactically and consciously supplied by those who should ideally maintain secrecy and data integrity. Tollywood is perhaps the only industry that tolerates such "exclusives". The brutality meted out to the male lead's character in 'Uppena' in the form of castration was published as "exclusive" stories weeks ahead of the movie's release in 2021.
