Director Mohanakrishna Indraganti and producer Dil Raju, two years back, planned to launch an event film titled 'Jatayu' with Vijay Deverakonda as the hero. The delay in the completion of Ram Charan's 'Game Changer' spoiled their plans.
The project is not shelved, though. If 'Game Changer' becomes a hit, Dil Raju will revive it, possibly with VD himself.
In his latest interview, Indraganti stated that 'Jatayu' is a passion project that will narrate the Ramayana without the embellishments of typical VFX. Its visual quality and effects will be inspired by the nature of narrative in the Valmiki Ramayanam. While deriving its material partly from the Epic, the story will have a fantasy element as the main ingredient.
The ambitious project might not take off immediately in 2025, though. After all, Vijay Deverakonda has to complete not just VD12 but also his movie with directors Ravi Kiran Kola and Rahul Sankrtiyan. But 'Game Changer' becoming successful will boost 'Jatayu'.
