Rahaman’s song for London Olympics opening ceremony

One of the world’s finest music composers, the Legend of Indian Cinema, A R Rahman, is going to compose song for 2012 London Olympics opening ceremony to be held on July 27th. It’s learnt that the maestro is going to collaborate with ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ and ‘127 Hours’ director Danny Boyle for the song. We know that the duo had worked together for the above mentioned films.

Confirming the news Rahman posted on his facebook mentioning, "Clarifying the report on the Olympics track I am composing... It's a track in Punjabi celebrating the Indian influence in the UK".

"It's a part of a medley in the Olympics opening ceremony, according to Danny Boyle's creative wishes!" Rahman added.

It’s already learnt that Ilayaraja’s composition ‘Naanthaan Ungappanda’ from Kamal Haasan’s ‘Ram Lakshman’ (1980) will also be a part of the opening ceremony. The 2012 London Olympics will be held from July 27th to August 12th.
