Late actor Uday Kiran might have screwed up his career deliberately due to whatever reason. He was not in the right frame of mind after his engagement with Chiranjeevi's daughter, Sushmitha, was called off. He made some missteps in his career.
In 2005, Uday Kiran was offered a triangular love story by producer D Suresh Babu. Since the producer was a big name, any actor would have deemed it a fortune. But Uday Kiran dilly-dallied and eventually spurned the offer, much to the shock of Suresh Babu and director Ravi Babu.
Ravi Babu was so upset that he didn't even care to convince Uday Kiran. "A day after assuring me he would do the film, Uday Kiran suddenly did a U-Turn in the presence of Suresh Babu. I was so shocked. I took an emotional decision for the first time in my career that day. I immediately cast a Hindi actor named Jugal Hansraj in Uday Kiran's place. But since the film (Soggadu) was meant to be a triangular love story, Uday Kiran would have been apt to do the role alongside Tarun and Aarhi Agarwal," Ravi Babu once said, explaining why Soggadu flopped badly at the box office.
