The Animal Film That Never Was: Pawan Kalyan's Shelved Project Idea

Recently, Pawan Kalyan released funds for building large water bowls for the welfare of animals during Summer season in Andhra Pradesh. The Deputy Chief Minister's gesture has been described as evidence that he is an ardent animal lover.

More than two decades ago, Pawan Kalyan wanted to make a film revolving around wildlife. After Johnny, the actor seriously toyed with the idea of making an interesting animals-based movie in which he would be an atypical male lead. He and his then-wife, Renu Desai, flew off to Rome to work closely with a wildlife specialist. This was shared by Renu Desai in an interview.

For some reason, the project didn't materialize and Pawan Kalyan moved on to Gudumba Shankar.

There are quite a few other projects that didn't materialize in Pawan Kalyan's career. Satyagrahi, to be produced by AM Ratnam, didn't take shape. This was announced in 2005. A film based on Jesus Christ's life was another such project which didn't take off. This one was supposed to be a Singeetham Srinivasa Rao directorial.
