Director Trinadha Rao Nakkina has mostly had a successful stint in cinema. His latest release, Mazaka, is a box office failure. Starring Sundeep Kishan and Rao Ramesh in lead roles, the film's awkward coincidences have put the audience off. As a result, it flopped at the box office.
Nakkina is next teaming up with Havish Koneru, who hasn't had a box office hit since his debut in 2011. After Nuvvila, he went on to act in Genius, Ram Leela, and Seven. But none of the films have helped him gain any mileage.
Nakkina must have committed to direct Havish even before the release of Mazaka. But Mazaka's commercial success would have made him popular among Tier-2 actors like Naga Chaitanya and Nithiin, putting Havish's project on the backburner.
Recently, reflecting on Mazaka, Trinadha Rao Nakkina acknowledged that audiences felt the second half of the family entertainer lost momentum compared to the first.
