'Where were Telugu actors during Me Too movement?'

Telugu actors have come together to urge the governments of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to arrest content creator Praneeth Hanumanthu. The YouTuber is guilty of promoting pedophilic content in the name of dank humour.

Sai Dharam Tej, Adivi Sesh, Manchu Manoj, Nara Rohit and whoever else is going to join the issue are doing it out of genuine emotional outburst. Their intentions should not be doubted.

However, as many have pointed out, the Telugu film industry stayed mum when the Me Too movement was a major online campaign a few years ago. Many female actors from the Indian film industry spoke of how they were harassed sexually by males from the industry.

None of the Telugu actors spoke out in support of the victims of sexual harassment. A Netizen asked, "Praneeth Hanumanthu is being shamed for the right reasons. But Tollywood was notoriously silent through the Me Too movement. When the culprit is an important person from the film industry, everyone behaves as though sexual abuse is not an issue. But when it is a content creator like Praneeth who is the culprit, everyone's conscience gets triggered."
