Black Sword in Mirai will be as impactful as Thanos was in Avengers: Manchu Manoj

"Just like Thanos in Avengers, my character Black Sword in Mirai will leave a strong impact," said actor Manchu Manoj, speaking at the pre-release event of Mirai in Vizag. The film, directed by Karthik Ghattamneni, is gearing up for a grand theatrical release on September 12th.

Manoj plays a powerful character in Mirai, wherein he locks horns with Teja Sajja, a Super Yodha of sorts. The film co-stars Shriya Saran and Jagapathi Babu.

"When Karthik narrated the story to me, I was so spellbound that I almost wanted to touch his feet out of respect. I didn't do it because he is younger than me. Mirai came to me at a time when none of the stories I was listening to excited me," Manoj said.

Black Sword has been imagined as a character with virtues. The character's single-minded focus is on tracing nine Sacred Books that apparently hold paranormal powers. In his quest, he doesn't tolerate injustice or vice. He is unforgiving and slays anyone who comes in his way. Once he gets to lay his hands on the Books, he will morph into a demonic villain, which is when he will enter into a direct confrontation with Lord Rama.

In his speech, Manoj mentioned the fruits borne by all those who were involved in an event film like Baahubali. "It doesn’t matter what role an actor plays - what matters is how much they impress the audience," he said.

Mirai inspired Manoj to work so hard and push himself strong that he has dubbed not only in Telugu but also in Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.

Manchu Manoj thanked producer TG Vishwa Prasad of People Media Factory for spending a bomb on the movie. His speech was also laced with his love for the city of Vizag, where Sri, Raju Bhai, Bindaas, Nenu Meeku Telusa, and Vedam were shot.
