Gayatri Bhargavi, a television anchor, expressed her deep distress over a YouTube channel's exploitative use of her emotional interview. The channel, she alleges, created highly inappropriate thumbnails that misrepresented a vulnerable moment where she shared a personal story about her husband, former Army officer Vikram, and became emotional.
As per Gayatri, the thumbnail quoted her as saying that her husband was brutally killed and butchered into pieces. "They used my family photos. Things I didn't say were attributed to me. Aghast, I spoke with the interviewer (Swapna) but the channel hasn't withdrawn the thumbnail till now. What is happening? The channel owes me an apology. Viewers should stop encouraging content of this sort. We have to be responsible," Gayatri added.
Swapna, who has previously been associated with top TV news channels, reportedly urged the management of the YouTube channel to get the thumbnail taken down. Since the channel was not ready to correct its ways, she has stopped working for it.
