By saying that Kuberaa is his film because the story of the movie "revolves" around his character, Akkineni Nagarjuna may have suggested that he is plagued by insecurity over his latest movie. With Dhanush amassing all the accolades, the senior actor might have felt the need to come up with the bizarre claim.
Nag stated that his character has three shades in the film, while Dhanush's character is less colourful. The logic is strange. Ramya Krishna's character in the Baahubali saga had multiple shades but that never made her its protagonist. Kuberaa is essentially Deva's story because it is the beggar's impulses and convictions that propel the story forward.
Meanwhile, Kuberaa is reported to have grossed fairly well on Day 1. It has a long way to go. In the coming days, the film needs to completely dominate the scene. It has that potential, unless Manchu Vishnu's Kannappa pulls off a surprise run at the box office. Otherwise, Kuberaa should have no real competition until Nithiin's Thammudu, the July 4th release.
