It has been a year since the tragic Sandhya Theatre Stampede killed a woman and severely injured her child. The family's unspeakable tragedy became the biggest talking point in the wake of the release of Pushpa 2 in theatres, with even the Telangana Assembly discussing it for an hour. Even as the movie became a blockbuster, Allu Arjun told the public that he was too disturbed to celebrate the BO success audiences across India had handed over to him.

In a sad development for Bunny, on the first anniversary of the movie's release, a fresh rumour went out in the town this week. The victim boy's father had allegedly said that not enough financial support had come from the actor.

Allu Arjun's team was quick to swing into action on Thursday to put the record straight. They got Dil Raju himself to speak about the financials involved. The actor has, since the tragedy, spent Rs 3.20 Cr from his pocket to safeguard the future of the child and to provide the best treatment there is possible. Since Dil Raju made this public statement in the presence of the boy's father, who too said that all financial support has been assured, it's evident that the actor was made the centre of a manufactured controversy.
