Shashtipoorthi's Teaser was released today in the presence of Nata Kireeti Rajendra Prasad, MM Keeravani, and the film's music director, Ilaiyaraaja.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajendra Prasad thanked the audience for lifting him up for decades as an actor. He credited Maestro Ilaiyaraaja with uplifting the careers of several male leads. "Had Ladies Tailor not become a hit, I might have died by suicide. Its songs were crucial in making it a super-hit. Raaja garu took that movie to the next level with his RR. He wanted his BGM to compete with my performance. He gave several hits to Chiranjeevi as well. I am glad that he is back with Shashtipoorthi. It has been 48 years since I debuted as an actor. I am excited after all these years to have teamed up with Ilaiyaraaja," he said. The Nata Kireeti added that the film is like a painting, thanks to art director Thota Tharrani. He suggested that Shashtipoorthi is nostalgic.
Ilaiyaraaja said, "MM Keeravani has written a song for this movie. When I read the lyrics, I realized that he felt strongly about it. Keeravani remains the same humble person he has always been. I hope Shashtipoorthi becomes a hit for all the talents associated with it. I don't know where I get my music from. The day I figure it out, I will stop composing tunes."
MM Keeravani said, "Yedo Ye Janmalodo is the title of the song I have written for this movie. When I first saw Ilaiyaraaja garu's residence in Madras decades ago, I looked at it with reverence. His songs always stunned me. I became a die-hard fan of his music. The music of my films in the first two years of my career were directly inspired by Raaja garu's music. The song in Shashtipoorthi is actually my letter to him. I thank actor-producer Rupeysh and lyricist Chaitanya Prasad."
Actress Akaanksha Singh said, "I am happy that I have been cast in this film. We are proud of our family system. This has been lacking in our contemporary cinema. Shashtipoorthi serves it to you all."
Shashtipoorthi's Teaser begins with a character saying that no matter what, the Shashtipoorthi ceremony of one's parents must be conducted. Rupeysh plays a public lawyer who has a whimsical personality to begin with and is eventually praised by one and all. Archana, Rajendra Prasad's Ladies Pair heroine, is back as his partner in the movie.
