Shashtipoorthi features Rajendra Prasad in a starring role. Produced by Maa Aaie Productions, the film is led by Rupeysh, who also takes on the role of producer.
The film's music is the creation of Maestro Ilaiyaraaja, with a historic collaboration marking the occasion: Oscar winner MM Keeravani has written a song for the Maestro’s composition, a first for the two icons. Titled 'Yedho YeJanmalodo', it was released today.
The song, sung by Ananya Bhat, brings alive Telugu cinema's vintage style in a good way. Rupeysh and Akanksha look simple yet ethereal. Their chemistry in the lyrical video is evidently natural. It will be interesting to see their love story, so also that of Rajendra Prasad and Archana. The family drama features two love stories.
Rajendra Prasad feels that the film is best watched with one's parents, grandparents and children. As per him, Shashtipoorthi is as special as Aa Naluguru, the classic from the year 2005. "Shashtipoorthi ceremonies are crucial in Indian culture. Rupeysh is a very good student as an actor. Archana was a highly seasoned performer even when we acted together in Ladies Tailor. Our characters in Shashtipoorthi are solid," he said.
