The running time of 'Pushpa 2' is nearly 195-200 minutes. That makes the movie longer than 'Animal'.
The sequel is heading to theatres on December 5. Unless director Sukumar has packed a solid punch in every scene in the second half, the 3 hour 15 minute running time is uncalled for.
'Animal', which was nearly as long, was not a sequel. Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga's style of treatment and making is not brainy but relies on dramatization, stylization and tension-building. 'Pushpa 2' is a sequel and is going to have a sequel of its own. After 195 minutes of action, if the audience don't get a closure, the film will end up seeming unnecessarily overlong.
'Pushpa 2', if it is not trimmed down to 2 hours 45 minutes or so, will have to lose out on revenue in the first week since holding extra shows in multiplexes won't be possible.
