'RRR': Luck factors favour the magnum opus

'Roudram Ranam Rudhiram' may be arriving at the cinemas two years too late (the original release date was in June 2020), but a few luck factors are favouring the magnum opus.

For one, the most recent Telugu biggie 'Radhe Shyam' didn't excite the Telugu audience. Looks like most family audiences skipped it in theatres. And, what is more, youths didn't go for a second viewing. They will now spend the saved monies on 'RRR' if the talk is positive. If families will catch it once, youths will go for repeat viewings if even 45 minutes of the film is outstanding.

For another, in Hindi, 'The Kashmir Files' is finally ebbing. The Vivek Agnihotri directorial almost finished Akshay Kumar's 'Bachchhan Paanday', which was released on March 18. Had 'TKF' been released on the 18th instead of 11th, its BO run would have been still glorious in the first week of RRR's release.

After a steady stream of hurdles and obstacles, 'RRR' is breathing easy at least in Telugu. In Hindi, it is expected to make Rs 150 Cr (Nett.) in its full run even if it is a bit at the level of entertainment that 'Saaho' offered.
