S.S. Rajamouli was born in Raichur, Karnataka, India, 10th October 1973. He is a reputed director, screenwriter and presenter of Indian films. He is widely renowned for his trendsetting works in Telugu cinema.
Personal Life:
Rajamouli's parents are K. Vijayendra Prasad, the star story writer of the Tollywood industry and Late Raja Nandini. He completed his education at Eluru up to Intermediate.
Rajamouli's wife is Rama Rajamouli, a costume designer and support system for Rajamouli's movies. S.S. Karthikeya and S.S. Mayookha are their children. The former worked extensively on the production and marketing front on films like 'RRR'.

In 2012, Eega fetched him wide-spread appreciation, and multiple awards and managed to make the Mumbai-based film industry talk about it. Since it was not the era of pan-Indian cinema, it was restricted to the southern part of India. It was also nominated for the Madrid International Film Festival in six other categories.
Later, Baahubali: The Beginning in 2015 became one of the biggest classics ever made. The costume drama was the most pathbreaking film that heralded the trend of pan-Indian cinema.
Baahubali: The Conclusion in 2017 achieved a record haul at the box office. The two Baahubali movies made Rajamouli a national star director.
RRR, released in 2022, brought him international acclaim. The film was released in Japan and several other countries. In the US, it was viewed with awe by the Hollywood film fraternity, including legendary filmmakers like Steven Spielberg and James Cameron.
Rajamouli became a presenter in 2022 by bringing out the Bollywood film Brahmastra: Part One - Shiva. He presented the movie in all major South Indian languages.

SS Rajamouli's next movie is going to be a mega adventure movie. Some or the other Hollywood studio is expected to back it. It will feature Mahesh Babu in the lead.
International glory:
Rajamouli won the Best Director Award from the New York Film Critics Circle. The prestigious award proved his popularity in Hollywood circles.
His RRR won the Critics Choice Award in the Best Foreign Language Film category in January 2023.
'Naatu Naatu' from RRR won the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song.
RRR is one of the films mentioned in the Oscars Reminder List in January 2023. It is most likely to be nominated in the final list on January 24.
