Fan wars show 'RRR', other multi-starrers are purely commercial

Attending the pre-release event of 'Bharat Ane Nenu', Jr NTR praised Mahesh Babu and described him as an inspiration. Moments later, the 'Sarkaru Vaari Paata' actor famously asked fans to learn from the camaraderie among star heroes. "We are friends. It is up to you to mend your ways," was Mahesh's lecture to fans of all heroes.

Many years later, it appears all counsel has fallen on the deaf ears of fanboys. Fans of no two superstars are friendly towards each other.

Just yesterday, when the rumour went out that Sree Leela would be cast opposite Pawan Kalyan in an upcoming movie, "anti-fans" started mocking Power Star, who is about 35 years older than the heroine. Ravi Teja's fans started saying that they would avenge the trolling directed at Mass Maharaja during 'Dhamaka'.

The biggest story that has caught the attention of even a section of the national media pertains to the social media-fuelled verbal wars between the fans of Ram Charan and Jr NTR this week. It all began with Charan's fans claiming that only Mega Power Star had received a spotlight award at the recent Hollywood Critics Association event. That was simply untrue. The award went to 'RRR'.

Jr NTR's fans disputed the claim (expectedly so). They didn't stop at it. They tagged HCA's members and trolled them for not making it visible that the award was for the film. This made HCA come back and say that Tarak was extended an invite but he coudln't make it (following Taraka Ratna's untimely demise). Whenever he goes to the US, he will be handed over the award.

It's bizarre that every occasion becomes a reason for fan wars. Tollywood can make any number of multi-starrers/two-hero movies, but the fact remains fans can't be brought together emotionally. Everything is purely commercial!
