After last year's 'Sulthan', Karthi awaits the release of 'Sardar' this Diwali in both Telugu and Tamil. PS Mithran of 'Abhimanyudu' fame is its helmer.
The news is that Annapurna Studios has bagged the action thriller's release rights in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana territories. The Telugu version is going to have a grand release owing to Akkineni Nagarjuna's backing.
Described as both high-quality and intriguing, the film has Karthi as a cop who means chaos for anti-social elements. Raashi Khanna, whose 'Pakka Commercial' is hitting the cinemas on July 1, has romanced the 'Kaithi' actor.
Also featuring Rajisha Vijayan and Bollywood actor Chunky Panday, the film has music by GV Prakash Kumar. Yesteryear actress Laila and a host of Kollywood actors are part of the cast.
In other news, director Mithran recently got engaged to film journalist Ashameera Aiyappan. As for Karthi, he is also doing a masala actioner titled 'Viruman' under the direction of M Muthaiah. His 'Ponniyin Selvan' with Mani Ratnam will hit the cinemas on September 30 this year unless postponed.
