'First Day First Show' is the title of a comedy entertainer backed by director Anudeep KV of 'Jathi Ratnalu' fame. Poornodaya Movie Creations' Srija Edida is bankrolling the comedy. Starring Srikanth Reddy and Sanchita Bashu, the film is directed by Vamsidhar Goud and Lakshmi Narayana P. The directors have developed a fondness for Poornodaya Movie Creations, which has made classics in the past. They praised the producer Srija for always being a go-to individual on set. The comedy will head to theatres on September 2.

Lakshmi Narayana: I hail from a village near Tirupathi. I have been in Hyderabad for the past 10 years. I worked as one of the writers on 'Jathi Ratnalu'. The story of 'FDFS' is written by its director Anudeep KV. He felt that two directors must handle this project.

I remember watching 'Panjaa' in a theatre in Tirupathi with much struggle. I attended a benefit show and the crowds were huge.

Vamsidhar Goud: I am a doctor by qualification and profession. I worked as an assistant director for 'Jathi Ratnalu'. I have always had a good rapport with Anudeep. When he pitched the idea of 'FDFS', we both developed the story at a fast pace.

After the story was developed, I liked the way how the script was shaping up. I don't come with much experience on the direction front. So, I was game for the idea of teaming up with another director for the sake of quality. I didn't mind it.

I remember the experience of watching 'Okkadu' first day first show.

About the film:

The film is set in the early 2000s. The story of this film takes place over a span of two days. The male lead falls in love with the female lead. The latter doesn't reciprocate similar feelings. But when Pawan Kalyan's 'Kushi' hits the cinemas, she requests him to ensure FDFS tickets for her and her friends. What all risks and challenges the male lead goes through in the process are what the film is about. The film's hero is a fan of Power Star. The references to the actor have been made in the film to the extent necessary.

The story has got a few surprises in store. The pacing of the story, the plot turns and the incidents will keep the audience engaged. The elements will connect with the audience.

Since the film is set in 2001, we had to recreate a lot of things that were in vogue at that time. For example, there used to be boxes used in projection.

It was nice working with actor Srikanth, who has previously done 'Pitta Goda'. He is good at looking innocent and aces the Telangana dialect. The humour in the film is simple. As for Sanchita, she hails from Bihar.

Prasanth Ankireddy's cinematography is going to be a highlight. Radhan's background score and his songs are entertaining. Although Radhan doesn't know Telugu, his understanding is superb.

(The film also features Tanikella Bharani, Vennela Kishore, Srinivas Reddy, Mahesh Achanta and Prabhas Sreenu)
