Kantara: Chapter 1 is slated to be released in theatres this week. Ahead of its release, the Andhra Pradesh government has permitted ticket rate hikes. Some objections were raised over increasing ticket prices for Kannada films here, especially at a time when Telugu films are facing obstacles in Karnataka. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan made it clear to the Cinematography and Home Department officials that it would not be appropriate to create difficulties for any film and that a broad-minded approach must be adopted.
Pawan Kalyan's stance is clear on the issue. Just because some Telugu movies have faced protests and obstacles in other forms in Karnataka, Kannada films shouldn't face the same in AP. “Art is meant to unite hearts, not divide them. Let us remember this truth and act with a good heart and national spirit. From the time of Kannada legend Dr. Rajkumar to the present stars like Kichcha Sudeep, Upendra, Shivarajkumar, and Rishab Shetty, Telugu audiences have always shown appreciation. There is a brotherly bond. When it comes to the commercial difficulties our films face, both the Telugu and Kannada Film Chambers should sit together and discuss. Once that happens, we too can take up the matter at the government level. I will personally bring this issue to the notice of the Hon’ble Chief Minister," Pawan Kalyan is learned to have stated.
Kantara: Chapter 1 hits the cinemas on October 2nd.
