Actor Anand Deverakonda has done a Netflix original titled Takshakudu. It is produced by S Naga Vamsi on Sithara Entertainments. Vinod Anantoju of Middle Class Melodies fame is its director.
The web release is inspired by folk tales the director heard as a child. Set in a village, it is both a thriller and an action drama blending myths and 'beyond belief' folk tales. For Anand, who has acted in love stories like Baby and crime comedies like Gam Gam Ganesha, this film seems to be a detour.
What is its story about? "Set in a remote tribal region, Takshakudu follows the story of a blind man and his loyal dog who embark on a journey through an unforgiving world after a cursed night reduces their village to ashes," the makers say.
Takshakudu has Anand Deverakonda as Suri. A commentary on greed, the film's each character faces its own demons.
