Vijay Deverakonda today shared an emotional tribute to late spiritual leader Puttaparthi Sathya Sai Baba on social media, marking what would have been his 100th birthday. The star revealed a deep personal connection, stating that Sai Baba bestowed upon him the name "Vijay Sai" when he was a child, a name he strives to honour daily.
The Kingdom actor, who is an alumnus of the Sri Sathya Sai Higher Secondary School in Puttaparthi, credited the institution with providing a safe and foundational environment for his education. His post further mentioned how the teachings helped him believe in "giving to the world." The Rowdy Janardhan actor affirmed that Sai Baba "will live on forever" in the hearts and minds of his devotees.
As a child, Vijay Deverakonda happened to act in a Sathya Sai documentary. "They took all the children who were chubby and could utter a few lines in front of the camera," the Arjun Reddy actor once said.
