Directors Sandeep and Sujith are elated on winning a Special Jury Award for their debut movie, KA. Released in theatres last year, KA was a Karmic thriller drama released in theatres last year. It featured Kiran Abbavaram in the role of a postman.
Produced by Chinta Gopalakrishna Reddy, KA was released by Vamsi Nandipati in theatres. Co-starring Tanvi Ram and Nayan Sarika, its music was by Sam CS."The film has a sci-fi element, but at its core, it's not a sci-fi suspense thriller. It is more of a mystery suspense thriller with a philosophical undercurrent. To ensure that the audience keep guessing about Vasudev's (name of Kiran's character) true motives and identity, it is hinted that he might be bearing the inadvertent consequences of his unwitting Karma," our review observed about the story.
Talking about why they chose a postman's character as the lead man, Sujith and Sandeep said, "In today's times, due to the spread of communication, privacy is an unknown concept. There was a time when one could only learn about others' lives by peering into the letters addressed to them. This inspired us to create a postman character as the male lead."
