It is known that Prakash Raj has been named by the Telangana police as one of the celebrities who endorsed online betting and gambling apps. He is in company with the likes of Vijay Deverakonda and Rana Daggubati, both of whom have said that they had endorsed only legally-permitted online skill-based gaming apps and not anything illegal.
Prakash Raj, on Thursday evening, put out a video statement hours after the Telangana police registered a case against him. Saying that he hadn't received any summons at the time of making the video, Prakash Raj added that he did endorse a betting app way back in 2016.
"But my conscience told me that's not right. I made a conscious decision to never endorse a gambling app after the expiry of that one-year contract. In 2022, when the company reused my old Ad, I told them firmly that my name shouldn't be used for promoting gambling and betting. I appeal to youth not to fall for gambling and betting," Prakash Raj said.
