Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has reportedly surpassed Salman Khan to become the country's highest-paid TV host. The legendary actor is set to host the 17th season of the immensely popular quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), with reports suggesting a staggering fee.

The Kalki 2898 AD actor is commanding a colossal Rs 5 crores per episode for KBC, accumulating to a staggering Rs 25 crores for just one week of five episodes. This figure significantly outstrips Salman Khan's rumoured fee of Rs 24 crores for the entire run on Bigg Boss OTT.

While both actors command immense star power and a loyal fan base, Big B's reported fee for KBC 17 solidifies his position at the pinnacle of television remuneration. Recently, it was reported that former Union Minister Smriti Irani is being paid Rs 40 lakh per episode for Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2. The contrast between the fees amassed by Smriti Irani and the Big B-Salman duo is quite evident.

Amitabh Bachchan was recently seen in films like Ganapath (2023) and has Kalki 2898 AD and Vettaiyan down south to his credit. Salman Khan's recent cinematic outings include Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan (2023), Tiger 3 (2023), and Sikandar.
