Virgin Boys is headlined by Geetanand, Mitraaw Sharma, Shrihan, Ronith, Anshula, Jennifer Emmanuel, and Kaushal Manda. Helmed by Dayanandh Gaddam, the film has Smaran Sai composing the music. It was released in theatres this Friday.
The team behind the entertainer today celebrated the movie's positive audience reception while simultaneously leveling serious allegations of defamation against certain individuals and media outlets.
Producer Raja Darpuneni opened the conference by expressing his "heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported Virgin Boys." He noted his personal visits to theaters, where he witnessed the "love pouring in from the audience." He shifted to addressing what he described as attempts to "defame the film under the pretense of media."
He specifically named 'Poola Chokka Naveen', accusing him of demanding money from the production team. "When we didn’t pay, they began spreading negativity about the film, damaging its reputation with false and biased reviews," Darpuneni stated. He further claimed that "some YouTube channels even released negative reviews before the film’s release to mislead the public." The producer confirmed that complaints have been filed with the Film Chamber, and legal action has been initiated with the police. He urged audiences not to "fall for such false propaganda."
Director Dayanand conveyed his gratitude to the viewers, acknowledging that "many had preconceived notions about the film based on its title." He proudly added, "But once they watched it in theatres, the response was phenomenal. We are thankful for that support."
Actor Geethanand echoed these sentiments, stating, "We are happy to see Virgin Boys performing so well." He emphasized the collective effort behind the movie, noting, "A lot of people have worked hard for a long time to bring this film to life." Geethanand appealed for support for newcomers, saying, "Instead of criticizing newcomers, people should support genuine efforts. This is my third film, and I request everyone to avoid negative campaigns."
Actor Srihan shared his excitement, calling it a "special moment" to see himself on the big screen for the first time. He sincerely thanked the audience for their love. Srihan also made a specific request regarding the film's certification: "Since the film received an ‘A’ certificate, I urge parents not to bring children." He concluded by requesting "continued support so the film can reach greater heights."
