Director Trinadha Rao Nakkina has courted controversy for making creepy comments on stage. At the Teaser launch event of his upcoming movie, Mazaka, the filmmaker said that he had asked his heroine to put on weight because the Telugu audience "prefer big-sized bodies".

The director, known for blockbuster movies like Dhamaka and Nenu Local, said that the current physique of the heroine seemed a bit too thin for the Telugu audience. "To improve the visual appeal and better align with audience expectations, I recommended considering a more curvaceous figure for the character," he said. The manner in which he said it on the dais was indecent. He played to the gallery with the ostensible motive of attaining virality.

The director tried for virality in another way. He mimicked Allu Arjun's recent speech in which the actor had "pretended" to have forgotten the name of the Telangana Chief Minister. "I forgot my heroine's name. It is Ritu Varma. I genuinely forgot her name today," Trinadha Rao said.
