Akhanda 2's shocking legal troubles owing to financial issues dating back ten years were unexpected. The film was supposed to hit the cinemas by now. Due to a Madras High Court intervention, its release has been stalled.
As per early reports today, financial issues between 14 Reels Plus and its creditors from the days of Dookudu, Aagadu and 1: Nenokkadine are showing signs of disappearing as things stand. Nandamuri Balakrishna and Boyapati Sreenu are believed to have parted ways with a part of their remuneration to make sure that the producers' troubles don't persist and the film finds a way into theatres this very week.
Akhanda 2 has to ideally get released in theatres this week (on Saturday). If not, its postponement will be nearly indefinite and it might release as late as December 25th.
Akhanda 2 was supposed to be released amid unprecedented hype for a Balakrishna movie. Its premiere shows on Thursday were planned across the Telugu State with the ticket price as high as Rs 600.
