Kamal Haasan and Trisha Krishnan have been promoting their upcoming movie, Thug Life, lately. While on the stage at a promotional event, Trisha stated that she likes eating boiled bananas more. She struggled to recall its name and asked what it was called.
At this, Kamal Haasan made an intervention. "You don’t know its name, but you know how to put it in your mouth?" The Vikram and Indian 2 actor made it sound like he was laughing at a junior industry colleague in a jovial way. But the intention has been seen as something else.
Netizens feel that it was an intentionally cracked A-rated remark as a rejoinder to Trisha's "banana" reference. "Had some other male actor made a similar remark, Tamil Nadu's politicians would have jumped in to accuse him of making an obscene remark. But since Kamal Haasan is a loyalist of the ruling DMK, nobody has the guts to question him," a Netizen observed.
Thug Life, co-starring Simbu and others, is directed by Mani Ratnam. AR Rahman is its music director. Its first song was released recently.
