After Mani Ratnam on Monday announced that Kamal Haasan's 234th movie, to be directed by him, is titled 'Thug Life', there has been a lot of chatter about the auteur's ability to surprise the audience. While Madras Talkies is yet to reveal the movie's genre and backdrop, it seems the film will be a period drama where the 'Vikram' actor will be seen in a remarkably author-backed role. Already, 'Thug Life' has stolen a march over 'Indian 2'.
Kollywood is slowly upping the game. 'Thangalaan', to be released in theatres on January 26 next year (2024) becoming a pan-south Indian hit will mainstream a particular narrative. 'Kanguva' has the greatest potential to generate huge openings in Telugu.
