‘Arjun S/O Vyjayanthi’, starring Nandamuri Kalyan Ram as a vigilante and Vijayashanthi as a retired IPS officer, was released in theatres this Friday. The makers have claimed that the movie earned a Day 1 worldwide gross of Rs 5.50 Cr.
On Saturday, speaking at an event, Kalyan Ram made an extraordinary claim. He stated that ‘Arjun S/O Vyjayanthi’ will give break-even to distributors by Day 5 or Day 6.
The excessive claim made by the Bimbisara actor would be believed if the Day 1 gross was huge and the film were holding great on Day 2. But NTR Arts and Ashoka Arts are said to have exaggerated the opening-day figure in their promotions.
The talk in trade circles is that the film is slated to become a below-average performer in commercial terms. While it might not be an outright disaster, it won't break even.
‘Arjun S/O Vyjayanthi’, directed by Pradeep Chilukuri, has music by Ajaneesh B Loknath. The film's bizarre plot, unintentionally funny dialogues, and outdated villain tropes make for a bewildering experience. "Only recommended for those seeking unintentional comedy and a nostalgic trip back to '90s Telugu cinema excesses," we stated in our review.
