Anna Lezhneva, wife of actor and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, offered prayers in Tirumala on Sunday evening. Pictures of the lady getting her hair tonsured have surfaced online. She offered her hair on the occasion after signing an affidavit that she has faith in Venkateswara Swamy, the residing deity of the temple town.
Reports say that the tonsuring was part of her prayer to fulfill a religious vow. She prayed for the safety of her son, Mark Shankar Pawanovich.
Mark was recently hospitalized after he met with a fire accident in Singapore. The 7-year-old boy returned to Hyderabad on Saturday with his parents. Earlier, Chiranjeevi thanked everyone for their prayers for the boy's safety. He attributed the boy's safety to their family deity, Lord Hanuman.
