'Heeramandi', directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, is going to be streamed on Netflix soon. Its first look teaser was released by the streaming giant on Sunday.

Starring 'Bombay' fame Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, 'Sammohanam' fame Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sharmin Segal and Sanjeeda Shaikh as courtesans, the film is set in Lahore in the pre-Independence era.

If you are wondering what the title stand for, it stands for the red light district of Lahore. "The market was originally the centre of the city's concubine culture for the Mughal era elite during the 15th and 16th centuries," a Wikipedia entry says.

As per Netizens, the 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' director seeks to change the way we look at sex workers. "I love Sanjay Leela's work. And I hate how we always look down on sex workers. Hopefully, this film will help us to change our perspective about women who are symbols of injustice and mistreatment. HeeraMandi or any other similar place reflects the reality of a society and its members," wrote Shkula Zadran.

Last year, Bhansali's film with Alia Bhatt was a blockbuster.
