Renowned Bollywood director Rajkumar Hirani has confirmed that the third installment of the Munnabhai series is in the works. Speaking at an event, he revealed that he is currently evaluating a few scripts and 'Munnabhai 3' is one of them.
"I am seriously wanting to write it now. It is very challenging, I am struggling but attempting to write," Hirani said. He added that Sanjay Dutt, who has played the iconic character of Munnabhai, is also eager for the film to happen.
Hirani further disclosed that he has five unfinished scripts for 'Munnabhai 3'.
Sanjay Dutt had a certain spark when he did 'Munnabhai MBBS' nearly 18 years ago. But now, he is not in his prime. He has been relegated to playing negative roles in movies like 'KGF 2' and 'Double iSmart'.
As for Rajkumar Hirani, his previous film, 'Dunki', was poor in terms of content. Whatever collections it minted was because Shah Rukh Khan was in great form after 'Pathaan' and 'Jawan'.
