ChatGPT writes story for sequel to blockbuster movie

'Mr. India', the Bollywood movie, was released way back in 1987. A commercial blockbuster, it was directed by Shekhar Kapur. It was scripted by Salim–Javed.

The other day, Shekhar Kapur claimed that the story to its sequel has been written by his cook. "I lost my cook to AI technology! After listening to all the professional writers pitching stories for a potential 'Mr India 2' he came up with a really good one! He got ChatGPT to write it. Now he creates small videos on AI and wants to go to an Art School. Imagine 1.3 billion Indians can now explore their creative potential," he wrote on X.

When a follower said that ChatGPT mostly comes up with dumb storylines, Kapur asked him to try giving it better prompts.

It is not clear if the AI-written story will be made into a film. Kapur is way better than that. It is not easy to take the audience for a ride these days. If it was so easy to get AI write movie stories, Telugu producers and directors would be doing it in Hyderabad first thing. After all, no other film industry in the world hates paying writers more than Tollywood.
