Hundreds of films have derived their inspiration from Hollywood movies. For a change, an Indian film will be remade by a Hollywood team. It is 'Drishyam' (Malayalam), one of the smartest thrillers ever made.
On Thursday, Panorama Studios made the Hollywood remake of the Mohanlal-starrer official. Gulfstream Pictures and JOAT Films will be joining hands for the English-language remake.
The Mollywood original was released in 2013. It was remade in Telugu with Venkatesh and Meena in the lead a year later. The thriller was remade in Hindi with Ajay Devgn and Tabu much later.
The film's sequel, 'Drishyam 2' was released in the pandemic era. As per Variety, the international magazine, Panorama Studios owns the remake rights to both 'Drishyam' and 'Drishyam 2'. So, if everything goes well, the sequel, too, will be remade in Hollywood.
