Dil Raju downplays benefit shows, ticket rates as minor issues

Soon after meeting Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Thursday, producer Dil Raju said that the government has a grand vision for the Telugu film industry. He attempted to downplay the media-driven narrative that the industry is disappointed that the CM has ruled out permitting benefit shows for big movies after the recent Sandhya Theatre stampede.

Dil Raju said that issues like benefit shows and ticket rate hikes for big-budgeted movies are minor issues. He suggested that the government wants to raise the stature of Tollywood internationally (by making Hyderabad a global hub for film shootings). "Today's agenda was to put Telugu cinema on the world map and what should be done towards that," Raju said.

It is interesting that Dil Raju dismissed that benefit shows and ticket rates are the biggest concern for his delegation. Recently, he became the Chairman of the TFDC, the bridge between the government and the TFI.

Today's Tollywood delegation also included Akkineni Nagarjuna, whose N-Convention was recently demolished by HYDRAA. Nag was seen courteously adorning the CM with a shawl.
