'SWAG': Is director Hasith Goli over-confident?

Young directors these days are making tall statements during promotions. Prasanth Varma, in an interview ahead of the release of 'HanuMan', said that he will soon do a movie that dwarfs Hollywood's 'Avatar'. Another young filmmaker, named Hasith Goli, too, is at it.

Hasith Goli of 'Raja Raja Chora' fame awaits the release of 'SWAG'. At the film's Teaser launch event, the director said that 'SWAG' will continue to be remembered forever. "Nobody has ever made a movie of this sort on the Indian screen," he said.

The production values as seen in the Teaser, however, don't inspire confidence. The film's story unfolds in five different timelines. Queens and kings, pop dancers and forest-dwellers... you see them all. The costumes and the production design on display are not at all inspiring. Of course, we need to wait for the Trailer to judge with a greater degree of awareness.

For now, though, Hasith Goli comes across as overconfident. In the same event, he described Sree Vishnu as Telugu cinema's contemporary Kamal Haasan. His comments have a certain 'swag', don't they?
