70th National Film Awards: 'Karthikeya 2', others secure honours

The 70th National Film Awards were announced today. In this section, let's find out the achievers from the important categories:

Best Actor in a Leading Role: Rishab Shetty for 'Kantara'. The film also won an award in the Best Feature Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment category.

Best Actress in a Leading Role: Nithya Menen for 'Thiruchitrambalam'. She shares the Award with Manasi Parekh for 'Kutch Express'.

Best Telugu Film: 'Karthikeya 2'. Produced by Abhishek Agarwal Arts and People Media Factory, the film is directed by Chandoo Mondeti.

Best Tamil Film: 'Ponniyin Selvan 1'. The Mani Ratnam directorial also won an Award in the Best Sound Design category and another Award for Best Cinematography.

Best Hindi Film: 'Gulmohar'. The film also won an Award for Best Dialogue.

Best Director: Bollywood filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya.

Best Supporting Actor (Female): Neena Gupta

Best Supporting Actor (Male): Pawan Malhotra

Other highlights:

KGF: Chapter 2: Best Action Direction and Best Kannada Film categories went to this Prashanth Neel-Yash movie.

Malayalam film 'Aattam' won three National Awards in Best Feature Film, Best Screenplay, and Best Editing categories.
