'Saripodhaa Sanivaaram' plot inspired by 'Maaveeran': Netizens

The trailer of 'Saripodhaa Sanivaaram' has sparked a wave of speculations. The similarities between Nani's latest movie and the 2023 Tamil-language superhero movie 'Maaveeran' are glaring. They are too obvious to be ignored.

The differences between the two movies, however, are not obvious. Nani's character in 'SS' is not timid. He stores his anger within himself, harnesses it methodically and allows it to come flowing out on Saturdays. All this because of a promise he made to his mother as a child.

In 'Maaveeran', the male lead has no such characterization. He starts hearing a mysterious voice and accidentally becomes a hero. Sometimes, he is incapable of saving himself. It is the voice that guides him. 'SS' has no fantasy element.

In 'SS', the residents of a damned slum are victims of a violent cop. In 'Maaveeran', the backdrop was a residential community. To be frank, 'Maaveeran' had a somewhat novel premise. 'SS', on the other hand, looks like a routine storyline where the hero saves the victims of a powerful man.

It will be hard for 'Saripodhaa Sanivaaram' to stave off comparisons with 'Maaveeran'. The film is going to hit the cinemas on August 29. Before its release, both Nani and director Vivek Athreya are surely going to be asked about the inevitable comparisons that have sprung up.
