The other day, distributor Abhishek Nama publicly said that 'World Famous Lover' (2020) resulted in a loss of Rs 8 Cr for him. Reacting to his public utterances, Vijay Deverkaonda's father Govardhan Rao has now told a news daily that his son is not responsible for the losses. Govardhan Rao also added that Vijay returned 50% of the remuneration he had received for doing the film after it became evident that 'WFL' was a disaster.
"Besides returning half of the remuneration, Vijay didn't take possession of the flat given by producer KS Rama Rao as the film didn’t fare as expected," Govardhan Rao told DC.
While Abhishek Nama expected Vijay to do a film under his banner as a generous gesture, the actor has been too busy to do that. Vijay was signed up early on by producer Dil Raju, Mythri Movie Makers (the recently released 'Kushi' is the one) and Geetha Arts. Keeping his busy schedule in view, Vijay couldn't allot dates to Nama's banner, Abhishek Pictures. This hasn't gone down well with Nama. That's why he made some public utterances against the 'Arjun Reddy' actor, it was suggested by Govardhan Rao.
