'Adipurush': YouTube channels and star heroes, please curb violent fans!

On Friday, soon after the early morning benefit shows of 'Adipurush', something untoward took place outside the Prasad IMAX multiplex theatre. A male person who trashed the movie got thrashed by a few angry fans of Prabhas.

The thrashing was preceded by a verbal warning by the irate fans. The victim dared them and said that he was entitled to express his opinion. Instead of averting physical abuse, those around them, including YouTube channels, sort of enjoyed the fracas. The video was uploaded as if Prabhas' fans had pulled off an adventure.

In another YouTube video, an irate audience member is heard declaring that he will kill director Om Raut if he comes to know his residential address. This is not the first time that such warnings have been issued publicly in the name of negative reviews. Ram Charan's fans threatened Boyapati Srinu after the release of 'Vinaya Vidheya Rama' in a couple of instances.

Most fans are sensible. Only a few fans threaten physical violence. They are the ones who have to be contained by star heroes. Verbal violence is also violence.

And YouTube channels, too, should desist from putting out such warnings as if they don't mean anything. They make the target (be it the director or some other person) feel threatened at least to an extent. Why can't YouTubers omit such problematic comments by the public?
