Vijay Deverakonda becomes co-owner of Hyderabad Black Hawks

Vijay Deverakonda has been a serial entrepreneur besides being a busy actor. He already owns the apparel brand Rowdy. Then there is a multiplex theatre named AVD that he co-owns. He has also got stakes in AHA, the OTT platform. Then he is also a film producer, bankrolling content films on King of the Hill.

The latest feather in his businessman's cap is this. The 'Liger' actor has become a co-owner of Hyderabad Black Hawks, one of India's top professional male volleyball teams. The franchise has been the sole representative for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

An announcement was today made about the 'Arjun Reddy' actor by serial entrepreneur Abhishek Reddy Kankanala, who is the principal owner of the Black Hawks.

The 'Geetha Govindam' actor said that the Black Hawks is more than just another sports team. He invoked Telugu heritage on the occasion.

The owners are aiming to enhance the prestige of the franchise, starting with Prime Volleyball League matches soon.

The RuPay Prime Volleyball League, powered by A23, is a privately owned Indian professional volleyball league with eight teams from Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Calicut, Kochi, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Mumbai.

Where to watch the upcoming matches:

In India: The upcoming second season of the league, featuring 31 matches running from the 4th of February to the 5th of March, will be broadcasted in India exclusively by Sony Sports Network on Sony Sports Ten 1, 3, and 4, and can be streamed live on Sony LIV.

In other countries: The matches will be streamed by Volleyball World, the commercial arm of volleyball's global governing body, Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB).
