'The Life Of Muthu' released in Telugu only because of Ravikishore: Gautham Menon

'The Life Of Muthu' was released today in Telugu across the Telugu States by producer 'Sravanthi' Ravikishore. The Tamil version, which was released two days before, has been lauded by film critics and audiences alike.

Speaking today on the occasion of the film's release, director Gautham Menon said that Ravikishore is the reason why the gangster drama has found a Telugu release. "We had no intention to release it in Telugu. The story is based in a Tamil Nadu village. When the Telugu release offer came our way, we researched a bit about the place in which the story should be set in Telugu and the dialect the hero must use," Menon said.

The director added that he is usually accused of showing his male leads riding bikes with the heroines. "Such scenes are not there in 'The Life Of Muthu'. Simbu is the reason why I could make the film realistically. He doesn't come with baggage," he added.

Siddhi Idnani, who plays Simbu's love interest in the movie, thanked the director and Ravikishore. She also mentioned AR Rahman's music. "I am happy that the Tamil version has been a hit," she added.

'Sravanthi' Ravikishore said that he and Menon are planning to make a straight Telugu movie together. "Honestly, I hadn't watched the Tamil version of 'The Life Of Muthu' till Thursday. I really loved the film. My banner has previously released movies such as 'Nayakudu', 'Pushpaka Vimanam', 'Rendu Thokala Pitta' and 'Raghuvaran B.Tech'. 'The Life Of Muthu' joins the league of such movies," he said.

'The Life Of Muthu' is going to have a sequel. It's a duology, the first part of which was released today.
