Bollywood audience find Vijay Deverakonda arrogant: Director

'Liger' didn't do well because the Bollywood audience find Vijay Deverakonda arrogant. This is the theory put forward by Ram Gopal Varma.

In his latest interview with a TV channel, RGV said that the Hindi audience found Jr NTR and Ram Charan quite humble during the promotions of 'RRR'. "Those two actors came across as down-to-earth. On the other hand, Vijay started saying things like 'Waat Laga Denge'," Varma commented, also making a reference to the episode where the 'Taxiwala' actor put his feet on a table during a presser in Hyderabad.

"After seeing stars like Ranveer and Ranbir in Bollywood, the audience in Hindi expect actors to be humble like Tarak and Charan," RGV said.

RGV added that Vijay became a big star because he behaves naturally off-screen. "But the current mindset of the Bollywood audience is different. The anti-Bollywood sentiment is strong there. They want the actors to behave humbly. There is a 'Boycott Bollywood' campaign going on. The spotlight is firmly on actors' off-screen behaviour these days," RGV opined.
