'Liger': Censor Board removes 'vulgar' references

'Liger', which is heading to theatres on Aug 25, is in the news for an interesting reason. On Wednesday, the film's CBFC report (of the Hindi version) surfaced on the Internet. And the Censor Board, on its part, chopped off the word 'fu*k' and its derivates at least half the number of times.

Not just 'fu*k' but also its super cousins such as 'Mother fu*ker' were heard in the uncensored version of the film. By reducing the frequency of the word 'fu*k', 'Liger' has been sanitized by the CBFC to a great degree, it would seem. Knowing Puri Jagannadh and Vijay Deverakonda, they must be disappointed to an extent. The middle-finger gesture, which has vulgar connotations, has also been blurred.

A quote by a British novelist will be splashed on the screen at the beginning of the film. The CBFC feels that Liger has a stammering problem in the film and therefore, the 'disability' should be portrayed with a touch of sensitivity.

The Hindi version's run-time has been locked at 140 minutes.
