'Saakini Daakini' is as much a thriller as it is a comedy. The teaser suggested that its lead women, Regina Cassandra and Nivetha Thomas, are pretty off-beat. The trailer doesn't go further on Damini's OCD problem. The film also doesn't seem to obsess itself with Nivetha Thomas' nature of being a big foodie.
Director Sudheer Varma adds Tollywoodian flavour in adapting the Korean drama 'Midnight Runners'. The initial portions are about the fun at the police academy where the lead actors come into contact with each other. Their relationship is bumpy but when they both witness the kidnap of a girl in the thick of night, it is time for them to execute their lessons in stunts.
The trailer ends on a comical note, indicating that the lead women share an irreverent equation throughout.
Mikey McCleary and Naresh Kumaran have done the music.
Produced by Suresh Productions, Guru Films and Kross Pictures Film, the film will head to theatres on September 16.
